A native Arkansan, Merry Anne has always enjoyed drawing.  At a young age, she used to enter the “Draw Me” contests that would come out in the magazines.  In high school, she took art for one semester and, upon going to college, pursued a degree in Art Education.  One of her pen and ink drawings was selected for the student art exhibition.  Unfortunately, she did not complete her degree.  While attending Arkansas State University, Merry Anne met and married her husband and they spent 25 years in the military.  Throughout their travels, she met many interesting people and had the opportunity to visit some of the world’s famous art museums.  Merry Anne and her husband are now both retired in his home town of Batesville, AR.  She continues to be an avid supporter of the arts and enjoys working with charcoal, pastels, acrylic and experimenting with various techniques.
